What is RSS?
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication, which is an XML-based (eXtensible Markup Language) format
for distributing online information. Not every website provides information in RSS format, but large news organizations
like The New York Times and CNN offer specific news feeds for topics ranging from movies
to technology. There are foreign-language RSS feeds and many personal Web logs (Blogs) turn
individuals into Internet syndicators.
RSS feeds can be used to track any information that changes frequently, from daily news to new recipes.
To take advantage of this powerful technology, all that is needed is an RSS reader
program ? often called an ?aggregator? - and an RSS feed . There are dozens of reader programs currently available.
